Experts illustrated that Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein’s confirmation that Baghdad and Washington had agreed on withdrawing 500 American soldiers paves the way to a new phase in Iraq for launching elections to form a legitimate executive branch. Experts also indicated that rushing the withdrawal of US forces was due to security imperatives, given the attacks that targeted foreign forces in the Green Zone in central Baghdad.
