Iraq – Iraq struggles amid US elections and Iranian conflict

Washington and Tehran are the most influential sides in Iraq. Although they have considered Iraq a play court to compete; each of which tries to magnify its influence over the other one. All the conditions imply that both sides don’t hope for open war especially with the approaching of US elections and the impact of Covid-19. The Iranian and their allies wanted to increase the pressure on Americans during this phase through launching sporadic and limited attacks, however; it is so hard to predict the reaction of the US administration especially after the factions attacked the US forces, as Trump’s administrations threatened them explicitly that the killing of any further American solider will cause a widespread reaction to eliminate their areas.
