Iraq – Christians are concerned about returning to their areas in the Nineveh Plain.

Citizens expressed their concern about the continuing deterioration of the political and security situation and the expansion in the pace of conflict between armed militias. They indicated that this is one of the most important reasons preventing them from returning to their areas in the Nineveh Plain, in addition to losing their homes that have been destroyed due to the recurrent conflicts. They called on the Iraqi government to extend a helping hand to them and provide them with sufficient guarantees to be able to return to their areas. The majority of Iraqi Christians live in the Kurdistan region of Iraq in the north of the country.
