Iraq – Expatriate Labours are Taking over Iraqis’ jobs
Baghdad- Iraq 27/08/2020
During the last ten years, Iranian expatriate labour is increasing in Iraq, in spite of high poverty and rise in unemployment. In some cities, Iranian labour is being favoured over the Iraqi ones, especially in various sectors including oil, tourism, construction, and hotels. Deputy Dr Khaleda Khalil clarified that it is the government’s duty to combat corruption in this regard, to lay restrictions on foreign labours, and to coordinate between the ministry of labour and the interior ministry.
