Yemen: The “water Girl’s” Brother Narrates with Grief How He Saved His Sister, Who Was Shot by a Houthi Sniper

With deep sorrow, Saleh Al omare, who risked his life to save his own sister, narrates the horrific incident. Ruwaida, a nine-year old girl, who became known as ‘ the ‘ water girl’ was targeted last Monday by a sniper while fetching water for her family in Taez’s al-Rawda neighbourhood.  Her fearless brother was then seen dragging the body in an attempt to rescue her. It was no wonder the circulated images on social media outlets of the poor girl bleeding caused an outrage. The girl is currently receiving treatment, as she was seriously wounded
