Iraq – Coronavirus hospital opens in Sulaimaniyah

Sulaimaniyah – Kurdistan Region – Iraq 20/03/2020

The city of Sulaimaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan has completed the construction of a new treatment hospital within 11 days with a capacity of 66 beds, in an effort to counter the risk of the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country, a number of merchants and owners of companies and funds donated the expenses of building the hospital and equipping it with modern medical equipment estimated at $700,000, the hospital’s construction is part of precautionary measures by the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq and the relevant ministries to combat the coronavirus after many deaths and cases were recorded in neighboring countries, including Iran.
