Iraq – Al-Khilani protesters are faced with teargas and weapons

Protesters in al-Khilani Square called on the Iraqi leaders and the international community to protect them from the repeated attacks they are being subjected to at times by the security man, and at other times unidentified people, with the aim of forcing them to break their open sit-in sit-in for several months.A number of protesters confirmed that, besides the tear gas canisters being thrown at them by security men, there are masked and unknown groups entering the sit-in and assaulting protesters with firearms and weapons, pointing that their protection is a duty of the Iraqi state, whose constitution guarantees the right to protest and express opinion.
