Jordan- An emergency meeting of Arab Parliamentary Union to discuss facing “Deal of the Century”

The thirtieth emergency meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Union was launched today, in the Jordanian capital, Amman, at the invitation of the President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, to discuss the deal of the century and how to confront it, Tarawneh said during his opening speech that the Palestinian issue is going through the most difficult times after the occupation went in hiding with the American bias to announce an unjust settlement of a just cause, and it extends the seizure of land, history and dignity, what requires us to discuss taking positions beyond those that are limited to speeches and slogans, and he added that the rejection front has to rise from the reality of the division, stressing that Jerusalem is symbolic and rejects the injustice imposed on the Palestinian people, for his part, the President of the Palestinian National Council, Salim Zaanoun, demanded the Arabs, by doubling their financial, political and parliamentary support for the Palestinian people, to enhance their steadfastness on their land, and to foil the American-Israeli “deal of the century” and take decisions to protect the rights of the Palestinian people, the final statement of the meeting stressed that the Palestinian issue will remain at the forefront of Arab issues, considering that the deal of the century is more than the Balfour Declaration and the rejection of any unfair settlement to the Palestinian issue that the Palestinians do not accept nor stipulate their historical rights to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967.
