At least six protesters were killed and several others injured after an armed attack by militiamen affiliated with Sadrist leader Moqtada al-Sadr on the sit-in square in Najaf province, demonstrators and eyewitnesses confirmed that the militias entered the square in order to break up the sit-in, which has been going on for several months to demand political and economic reforms, using live bullets, indicating that among the injured are ones in a very serious condition.
