Iraq – Kurdish reaction to U.S.-Iran escalation contrasts

After the Iranian bombing of the bases of Ain al-Assad and Erbil in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, under the pretext of revenge for the death of Quds Force commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qassem Soleimani, the Kurdish response that the region will not be a field of conflicts calling for calming down through dialogue, this response attributed by politicians to the fact that Kurdistan owes the two parties for having fought a war against ISIS, along with the Washington-led international coalition, as well as its alliance with Soleimani, which was regularly seen in Erbil during the war against ISIS, have argued that the Iraqi Kurds are not ready to risk their independence, because they are the only ones in the Middle East who are independent unlike the Kurds of Iran, Turkey and Syria.
