Jordan – The Gas agreement turns Jordanians’ joy of welcoming the new year into dejection

Citizens expressed their total rejection of the gas agreement signed between Jordan and Israel, which came into force earlier this year,  the experimental pumping of Israeli gas to Jordan began in accordance with the gas agreement, which has disappointed the citizens, the general coordinator of the national campaign to drop the gas agreement Dr. Hisham Al-Bustani pointed out that the gas agreement turned the joy of welcoming the new year into dejection, the agreement as he described is a strategic, security and natural disaster. The rapporteur of the Energy Committee of the House of Representatives, Moussa Hatnash, also confirmed their total rejection of the agreement.Jordan has seen numerous popular demonstrations since the signing of the agreement in 2016, the most recent of which was the march of popular anger last Friday.
