Iraq -Soleimani’s death threatens to implicate Iraq in war on behalf of Iran

The killing of The Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, along with a number of popular mobilization leaders, with a U.S. strike on their vehicle in Baghdad, has raised fears among citizens that Iraq will be dragged into a war that isn’t theirs in the first place. Iraqis called on the government to act quickly to prevent their country’s involvement in the conflicts between Tehran and Washington, orto carry out Iranian plans to fight with the United States on Iraqi soil.The United States announced that it had carried out an air strike on a vehicle carrying Qassem Soleimani, deputy commander of the Popular Mobilization Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and several other leaders of the mobilization.
