Iraq – Debate prevails in the political circles after unknown individuals have targeted media channels

The targeting of a number of Iraqi and Arab media channels by unknown gunmen over the past two days has been a case of controversy among political circles amid continuing popular protests demanding better citizen status and anti-corruption, observers have pointed out the possibility of government involvement in these actions in order to muzzle the public and to avoid media coverage of the protests out of fear of increasing numbers of demonstrators, demanding that the government reveal the identity of the perpetrators and find out their motives behind the attacks.
