Iraq – The vague decision of merging the Popular Mobilization Forces with the government forces

Merging the popular forces with the Iraqi government forces remains a vague decision especially that the fate of these forces with regard to the integration, role and functions remains unclear. Security experts pointed out that this decision should not be taken without prior political agreement on the most important issues of these forces relationship with the Iraqi government, in order to serve the highest interests of the country, while some expressed optimism of that decision to consider as the beginning of partnership termination between Baghdad and Tehran.
