Iraq – UN Security Council delegation arrives in Baghdad for the first time in three decades

The UN Security Council delegation arrived in Baghdad on Saturday for the first time in nearly three decades for a one-day official visit to Iraq, which comes in response to the Iraqi government’s call and affirming the Council’s continued support for Iraq’s efforts in stability and reconstruction, as well as to support Iraq while its adopting a balanced vision to enhance its international standing, the international delegation will discuss with Iraqi officials the latest developments in the country, as well as the mounting tensions in the region due to the US-Iran conflict.
