Iraq – Nechirvan Barzani elected as the president of Kurdistan

The Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament (IKP)  elected “Nechirvan Barzani” Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) candidate as the president of the Kurdistan region by majority, the election of the President of the region comes about eight months after holding the legislative elections in the Kurdistan region, following the reactivation of the territorial Presidency law which was suspended in November 2017 when former President Massoud Barzani announced that he will not be running again.
