Iraq – Experts: ExxonMobil evacuation of its foreign employees will not affect oil pumping

With tensions escalating between the United States and Iran the end of the exceptions that Washington has given to some countries to enable them to import Iranian oil and gas, in the last couple of days ExxonMobil has evacuated all its foreign employees working in the West Qurna 1 oil field in the city Basra, south of Iraq, which caused even more confusion to the Iraqi view about dealing with the new situation, experts said that evacuating these employees from the field will not affect the pumping of oil, while some felt that this move might give the world the impression that security matters are deteriorating in Iraq,in contrast to reality.
