Iraq – Debate session to discuss the failure of explosives detection devices

The Iraqi Center for Legal Development held a meeting on the failure of explosives detectors in Iraq in the presence of a number of academics, political analysts, security officials and media, the meeting discussed the investigation of the failure of explosives detection devices supplied to the Ministry of Interior and a number of Governorates, the military and security expert, Major Genral Safaa Al Assam, said that the subject of the failure of explosive detection devices in Iraq, is one of the main reasons for the lack of progress of the country and its development and forward, as it concerns the lives of citizens and the future of Iraq, adding that huge problems appeared lately especially in regards to corruption at a financial and technical level, which reflected negatively on the Iraqi reality, and led to the occurrence of casualties and disturbance of the political process in Iraq.
