Iraq – US delegation meets officials in Nineveh’s crisis cell

The Chargé d’Affaires of the US Mission in Iraq, Joey Hood, paid a visit to the Crisis Cell in Nineveh, where he met with senior security officials and municipal officials in the province. During the meeting, which was rich in topics, Hood discussed multiple files that aim to support the war-torn Nineveh. Hood affirmed during the meeting that the US is the top supporter for Nineveh’s reconstruction process through the UNDP and other organizations. The US delegation said that they are impressed with the crisis cell’s great performance and what it has accomplished shortly after it was formed, stressing the need to review and discuss the US-funded projects, which are worth $350 million. It is noteworthy that these projects were launched in Nineveh to restore services like water and electricity, establish health centers, and rehabilitate schools for the people of Nineveh.
