Iraq – Activists criticize the parliament’s decision of banning electronic games

Iraqi activists have criticized the Parliament’s decision of banning electronic games , such as PUBG, Fortnite, and the Blue Whale, claiming that it threatens the social, moral, educational security of society, in the same time the Parliament has refrained from voting on significant projects that would serve the citizen, and failing to find solutions for the vital issues that Iraqi people have been suffering from for years, such as the rising rate of suicide, the popularity of drugs among young people, as well as the rising of the social violence phenomenon, stressing that forbidding and banning electronic games is not the solution, and that it’s such issues should not concern the Parliament , the activists added that what’s more dangerous than the popularity of PUBG on a child today, is witnessing one of his relatives killing his daughter or sister under the so-called honor crimes and several other crimes that are more dangerous and influential for Iraqi people.
