Iraq – ISIS plot to set up a base in Hamrin Mountains thwarted

Security experts confirmed that the Iraqi counter-terrorism forces, backed by the Iraqi Air Force, were able to eliminate ISIS positions in Hamrin Mountains between Diyala and Kirkuk provinces in eastern and northeastern the capital Baghdad. They also managed to obtain important information and a large database that belongs to ISIS. The counter-terrorism forces revealed that they have thwarted ISIS plots to set up a base in Hamrin Mountains, where they carried out an operation a few days ago, killing dozens of terrorists in Hamrin Mountains. In the operation, the headquarters of al-Naba newspaper, which is affiliated with terrorist ISIS gangs, was destroyed and a number of issues of the newspaper as well as printers, computers, and significant documents were found.
