Yemen – Women Launch a Graffiti Campaign in Taiz

“Women of Taiz for Life” team marked the World Day of Painting by launching a “Graffiti” campaign in Taiz, southwestern Yemen. The initiative witnessed a broad participation by young people from Taiz who decorated the streets of Taiz with paintings that portrayed the social, political, economic and cultural life in Taiz in light of the war and siege. The paintings also depicted the effect road and port closures have had on the city for the past four years, and expressed how challenging it is for people to reach the city, which is beginning to return to life after its liberation from the Houthi militia.
