The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has started rehabilitating 10,000 housing units in Mosul’s right coast, which is the most affected part of the city. The engineering and technical cadres have managed to renovate approximately 2,500 houses so far. The campaign is set to cover 29 residential neighborhoods in Mosul’s right coast, including the Old City. The UNDP’s plan is to rehabilitate and renovate houses with damages up to 60 percent, especially in the Old City, which was entirely devastated by the air strikes during the war against ISIS. The citizens commended the UN’s efforts to rebuild their homes, and praised the voluntary and charity teams, the city’s dignitaries who collected donations, and everyone who contributed to repairing and rebuilding dozens of houses in Mosul.
