Iraq – Experts: Patrick’s visit carries messages of the US influence in Baghdad

Iraqi experts said that the acting US Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan’s visit to Baghdad and meeting with a number of Iraqi officials carries messages to the countries in the region stating that the US still has a powerful influence in Iraq. This visit is in light of the near voting of the Iraqi Parliament in favor of US forces leaving Iraq. The visit also addresses Washington’s in the future of training, armament, logistics and intelligence.
