Iraq – Distress amongst the educated over government’s decision to impose taxes on books

The Iraqi government’s decision to impose taxes on imported books caused a huge distress amongst the educated and publishers. They considered it an offense against the value of books and what consequences it bears on the Iraqi reader who seeks the latest Iraqi and foreign published works. This was discussed during a press conference held by publishers in Baghdad.
