Iraq – Extensive preparations by christians in Nineveh Plains for Christmas

The christian cities and towns of Nineveh Plains in eastern Mosul witness the preparations for Christmas and New Year’s, which are the first since being liberated from ISIS. The preparations include decorating the trees and shopping for Christmas supplies by the citizens of Al-Hamdaniya district, whose majority is made up of christians. Young volunteers organised parades in the streets of the city wearing Santa Claus costumes, indicating their preparations to welcome Christmas and to organise special events this year.
