Jordan – New wave of protests against the Income Tax bill
Amman-Jordan 07/12/2018
A wave of new protests continues to fill the streets throughout the country, as the new income tax bill proposed by the government of Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz was brought into force after the Parliament recently endorsed it. Hundreds of protesters demonstrated near the Prime Ministry in downtown Amman yesterday, to protest against the new income tax bill. The protesters’ demands also included the withdrawal of the cybercrime draft law, and the release of prisoners of conscience. They also demanded the overthrow of the Jordanian government, the two houses of Parliament, and the dignitaries, and called for forming a new national salvation government.
