Iraq – Fighting Violence against Women is the message of Baghdad Marathon for Peace

Raising the slogan “your step is spreading peace”, Baghdad Peace Marathon launched its fourth edition in Baghdad with the participation of 1,200 male and female contestants. The aim of the event is to spread peace, reject extremism in all its forms and fight violence against women. The main slogan of the marathon was expresses in allowing women to run in streets freely without being harrased to promote for a tolerant culture that gives women the right to practice sports just like men. The marathon also aims to reflect the civilized face of Baghdad.
