Iraq – Military arrangements along the Iraqi-Syrian border to prevent the penetration of ISIS members from the Syrian side

Iraqi forces are taking the necessary preparations along the Iraqi-Syrian border to avert any infiltration by ISIS members from the Syrian side, where violent battles are taking place between ISIS members and the SDF. This comes after the Ministry of Defense recently placed flyers near the border with Syria, reading “Violent clashes are taking place on the other side of the Iraqi-Syrian border, ISIS members might try to cross the border and infiltrate into Iraq”. Military experts stated that these military preparations are meant to make sure that hundreds of trapped ISIS members in Hajin town near the border don’t try to sneak in, pointing out that these arrangements are done in cooperation and coordination between the Iraqi and Syrian military leadership.
