Iraq – Reconstruction of the first destroyed house amid the ruins of old Mosul

Among the ruins of destroyed homes in Al-Qulaiyat region in the old city of the right side of Mosul which witnessed fierce battles between the Iraqi forces and ISIS  organization, the first reconstructed house is prominent with its bright colors and unique designs. Abu Thanoun, the house owner, did not wait for the start of the Mosul reconstruction campaign by the Iraqi government and he depended on himself despite of the difficult living situation but he is still waiting for a glimpse of hope for getting the government compensation to enable him to pay his debts and amounts disbursed by the reconstruction of his home.
