Iraq – Popular demonstrations continue in Basra to protest the difficult living conditions

The demonstrations in Basra continued to protest the deterioration of the difficult living conditions and the deterioration of services in the city. The confrontations between the protesters and the security forces resulted in a number of civilian deaths and injuries, as well as the burning of a number of the headquarters of the pro-Iranian parties. The Iraqi government is working quickly to improve the living conditions of citizens, especially that the city of Basra is one of the cities in Iraq with the highest percentage of poverty and unemployment.
