Iraq – The manufacture of Kurdish fashion fabrics manually maintains its position in the Kurdistan region

Shamoun continues to adhere to the weaving of “Al-Marz” fabric, which is used to sew Kurdish men’s fashion manually by “Shal and Shabak” by working in his house in the village of Persfi, north of Dohuk, Kurdistan. He inherited the difficult profession from his father and grandfather but he need to make a double effort in the weaving of fabrics of goat wool, which is still popular in the market of sewing traditional Kurdish clothing, which is characterized by precision and beauty.
