The Yezidis in Iraqi Kurdistan commemorated the fourth anniversary of Sinjar’s tragedy, in which thousands of Yazidis were killed and kidnapped following an attack by ISIS in their areas in Ninevah province, northern Iraq, on August 3, 2014. The Yezidis hanged pictures of the victims ISIS killed, buried and kidnapped on their tents in the camps, where 3,102 Yazidi women, men and children are still missing, while 3,315 out of 6417 abductees were found thanks to the efforts of the Abductees Office of the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Yazidis, the majority of whom live in displacement camps in the Kurdistan region, demand that the Iraqi government and the international community take care of the kidnapped persons and work to speed up their rescue and return them to their families, improve their living conditions and rebuild their destroyed areas to enable them to return to them.
