Iraq – Farmers of the Kurdistan region complain of losses because of the abundance of their crops and the lack of markets
City Center – Sulaymaniyah – Kurdistan Region – Iraq 3/7/2018
The farmers of the Kurdistan region suffer from weak marketing for their agricultural crops of vegetables and fruits, which exceeded the need of citizens in the cities of the region, because of the lack of large markets and warehouses for storing the crops, in addition to not being able to export agricultural crops to central and southern Iraq, which reflected on their material return and caused heavy losses due to the abundant crops. The farmers attributed the lack of marketing their crops to the lack of coordination and cooperation between the federal government and the Government of the Territory to market the agricultural crops to the rest of the provinces in the country, which adversely affected the farmers.
