Iraq – Launching the “Bikes for everyone” project in Erbil

Niyan Yaseen, the local and international cyclist, has launched a bicycle-driving project at Sami Abdul Rahman Park in Erbil, Kurdistan Region. The Dutch Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Janet Alberda, and many bike lovers attended the project’s launching ceremony. The project aims to protect the environment and keep it clean from pollution by encouraging cycling to maintain healthy body and fitness, as well as encouraging all the society segments to practice cycling and use it as a means of easy transportation instead of traffic congestion. The project, inaugurated by Nyan, is the second of its kind in the region, where a similar project was launched in Sulaymaniyah last year.
