Shotlist:

– Soundbite (Safi Mohammed Taher – Artist participating in the exhibition):

“Paintings that I have displayed are three paintings. The first depicts mother’s cry for the loss of her child killed in war. The second depicts poverty. The third depicts brothers who were separated due to life circumstances then reunited. I’m happy I get to display these paintings and show people my work”.

– Soundbite (Hana Mohammed – Visitor to the exhibition):

“We came today to see the first peace paintings exhibition. I was amazed by the beauty and creativity of Aden youth and their drawings that express the difficult conditions in Yemen. The paintings express happiness and sadness at the same time. The artists were able to depict the extent of their suffering and how much they are marginalized and deprived compared to youth across other parts of the world, where there is progress, job opportunities and most importantly; peace.”

– Soundbite (Wael Yassin Jamal – Supervisor of the exhibition):

“I was glad to be part of this exhibition. I loved the works of visual artists that varied in their use of materials and techniques. Artists tried to express peace with various colors, techniques and art elements. Some used modern art in their work.”
