The Yemeni Prime Minister, Maeen Abdulmalik, said discussions held with the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation achieved important consensus, including strengthening the bank’s field presence in Aden. The government will cooperate in partnership with the Bank to meet the humanitarian and development needs in the next phase, including working on sustainable development projects. The temporary capital, Aden, hosted today Monday the joint press conference with the World Bank delegation headed by the Executive Director and Dean of the Bank Group’s Board of Directors, Dr. Mirza Hassan. The PM welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of the conference amid the hard challenges Yemeni government is facing. For his part, the bank’s Executive Director pointed out Yemen’s priorities and how it was affected by the global crisis, emphasizing the importance of balancing humanitarian aid and sustainable development to build the country.
