In conjunction with the anniversary of the liberation of the capital, Aden, from the Houthis, the Wefaq Organization for Peace and Human Rights in Aden held a forum entitled “Mosques in the Houthi targeting circle, an Iranian methodology and an inherited sectarian ideology in the capital, Aden”.

The form was opened with a speech by the Head of the External Relations Department of Wifaq Organization and the official in charge of the Middle East file, Dr. Radfan Al-Muflihi, who talked about the importance of holding the forum, especially at present, appreciating the interaction of the participants.

The Adviser to Wifaq Organization, Judge Amr Al-Amrawi, gave a speech in which he stressed that the organization of this important human rights forum comes from the organization’s goals that support the establishment of the principles of peace and humanity and the promotion of the values and principles of tolerance in the world.

He added that the forum emphasizes the importance of respecting religion, religious symbols, civilians, and places of worship, pointing out that Yemeni society has urgently needed to confront the phenomenon of violence and sectarianism promoted by the Houthi militia.

  • Soundbite (Omar Al-Amrawi – Legal Adviser to Wefaq Organization for Peace and Human Rights):

“Houses of worship were away from these attacks, but unfortunately the Houthi militia violated them. It is dangerous and no one has committed such violations, as they burned and destroyed mosques, and used them to store missiles.”

  • Soundbite (Radfan Al-Maflihi – Official in the Middle East file for Wifaq Organization for Peace and Human Rights):

“This forum consists of four topics; Houthi militia’s methodology in violations of mosques, violations of mosques, places of worship and worshipers, the legal description of the crimes and attacks of the Houthi militias around mosques and places of worship, and the Houthi militia’s violations of mosques and places of worship, an alien methodology.”
