Storyline
Tishreen youth movement launched a humanitarian aid initiative entitled” “consider them your own family’ amid displaced people’s distress calls for help, given the lack of governmental aid and unbearable low temperatures in Sulaymaniyah. The initiative provided bereaved families with 700 blankets, 30 heaters, 1000 children’s winter clothes. Most of the displaced families live in makeshift camps in Dokan District affiliated with the Sulaymaniyah Governorate. Displaced families expressed their gratitude, as they demanded the government to assume its responsibilities by meeting their needs and to find a fundamental solution to their plight.

-SOUNDBITE (Fakher Mouloud-Volunteer in the campaign)
Upon distress calls from displaced people, the Tishreen protest youth movement launched a campaign under the name “consider them your family” to help displaced families. We want the new government to resolve refugees’ stalled issues by facilitating their return to their houses.
-SOUNDBITE (Salah Jamal – Distribution Officer at the Iraqi Directorate of Immigration)
Thank God, and God bless efforts by these organizations and youths who remember helping displaced families, given their appalling conditions amid chilling winter. We, representing the immigration ministry, are honored by such an initiative and we will provide all the support we can

-SOUNDBITE (Ali Shokr- displaced people’s representative) We, as displaced people in Dokan District, would like to thank volunteers for their support.
