Cambodia – People of Takeo resort to AIMS’ Modern Net Farming to enhance their livelihood
The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) work together to accelerate the Inclusive Markets for Smallholders (AIMS) to assist people of Trapeang Chak village, Tram Kak Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province. People voiced their happiness after their lives were changed joining the AIMS project of farming in a net house, which facilitates the marketing of agricultural products at affordable prices, by decreasing the number of traders to only one trader, in addition to contracting with a trader to provide farmers with raw materials to at reasonable prices too. People pointed out that they have spent many years in traditional farming, but the harvesting didn’t seem to be appropriate, so they had to join the AIMS project and do modern farming.
