Jordan- A Jordanian Artist Creates Art Masterpieces by Using Sand and Shadows

198

In an exceptional manner, Mohammed Samara, the 67-year-old artist, uses sand and shadows to create eye-catching textured paintings. Samara resorted to wooden frames instead of using a plain canvas; he applies a paste of sand and glue to wooden frames that are then left to dry. To Samara, the textured canvas symbolizes land, and he enjoys painting people’s shadows on top of the layer of sand, saying that a shadow represents a person’s unique character. He claimed that one imagines many things once he-she sees a person’s shadow. Moreover, he showcases his work at home and he is keen to teach those who express interest in learning this art
