24

With UN Women in Iraq and Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund support, Activists of Women’s rights conducted a panel discussion to discuss women’s rights and their social empowerment in political decision-making within state institutions. Some participants confirmed that women did not take the same role in decision-making centers as men; In fact, their voice is still missing, due to social and clan mores and traditions, which leads to suppress their voice despite their ability to create a change, as well as the enactment of a law that targets violence against women due to persecution in order to achieve equal rights.
