Iraq – Halabja Pomegranate Festival Provides Iraq with 10 billion dinars

With significant turnout, Seasonal Seventh Pomegranate Festival activities that will last for 3 days were launched in Halabja Governorate, in participation of 40 farmers displaying 6 different types of pomegranate, Halabja is famous for its distinctive pomegranate production in Iraq and the region, where its annual production reaches 30,000 tons that creates a financial return of about 10 billion Iraqi dinars. According to the Halabja Directorate of Agriculture report: 3,900 farmers are working on a land area of 9 square kilometers of pomegranate.
