Yemen – UN envoy to Yemen meets with the Southern Transitional Council

The UN envoy, Hans Grundberg, arrived on his first visit to the temporary capital, Aden, in southern Yemen, and met the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, at the council’s headquarters in Aden. Al-Zubaidi stressed that the Southern Transitional Council is keen to make peace efforts in our country a success. For his part, the envoy of the Secretary-General Hans Grundberg emphasized the need for the Transitional Council to participate in the comprehensive political process through the agreed arrangements, stressing the importance and speed of forming the joint negotiating delegation.
