Yemen – ‘Funds cut drags Millions toward Starvation in Yemen’ NGOs Say
Yemeni displaced people in camps of Lahij Governorate are living in difficult humanitarian conditions, due to the lack of food and basic commodities, and the cut of international funding.
Daughter of Omar Hassan Ali, a displaced family from Al-Hodeida Governorate, western Yemen, died due to malnutrition and her father inability to provide food for his family, the family that have been trying to survive on one meal a day, thousands of families in the camps rely on aid to get food, but it was cut off due to lack of funding, and according to a United Nations report, a thousand Yemenis die weekly from starvation or lack of food.
Executive Director of the World Food Program confirms that 3 million Yemenis will be subjected to stopping Food rations in October unless the United Nations receives new funding.
