The news about a group of Chinese hackers stole the data of the Mekong River in Cambodia raised concerns among observers, who stated that the main goal of the hack was to steal the data of military bases in the country. The social researcher, Seng Sary, believes that China is seeking to establish a secret and illegal electricity dam project in the Lower Mekong region, which has led to a violation of human rights due to the floods that inundated many families, compared to the continuous US aid to Cambodia that shows respect for human rights and democracy, adding that the United States pays attention to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations for the security and sovereignty of each country.
