Iraq – 97 Suicide cases in Iraq since July 2021

Suicide cases in Iraq have witnessed a noticeable increase since the beginning of the second half of 2021. According to MOI and Human Rights statistics, 97 suicide cases have been recorded since early July of the same year. On the World Suicide Prevention Day, experts and researchers said that Baghdad had the majority of these cases referring the increase of suicide attempts to dysfunctional family, financial indigence and drug abuse in plus to Mental and Psychological Diseases while women and youth recorded the highest percentage.
