Amid rampant cybercrimes and online harassment, the General Directorate of Combating Violence against Women in Kurdistan demanded launching a cybercrime directorate that would enact deterring laws to protect youths from such crimes. This was coupled with a remarkable increase in domestic violence resulting from the misuse of social media outlets. Cybercrime expert, Fayek Yazidi illustrated that putting an end to those rampant cybercrimes necessitates adopting laws by the parliament. According to the latest survey on domestic violence, the main factor behind the rise in violence can be attributed to the misuse of social media outlets
