Iraq –Initiative to provide 1,500 schools with internet to launch in Iraq

The Media and Communications Commission signed an agreement with UNESCO and the Ministry of Education to begin an initiative to provide internet access to Iraqi schools through the contributions of private sector mobile phones companies in Iraq. The head of the Media and Communications Authority, Ali Al-Moayyed, stated that the first stage of this solidarity project with international organizations and the European Union will include 1,500 schools, whereas UNESCO pointed out that the project will offer the Ministry of Education important information and data that will develop the Iraqi educational process.
