Iraq- Election Supreme Security Committee Declares Wrapping up Preparations for Parliamentary Elections

The Interior Ministry spokesman, Major-General Saad Maan illustrated that Baghdad Operations Command, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defence, and the Iraqi National Security Service have adopted tightened security measures ahead of Iraq’s early parliamentary elections, scheduled for October. He added that ballot stations will be highly secured by imposing three security cordons so to guarantee transparent elections, away from partisan influence that would alter the results. Furthermore, security measures are adopted to protect ballot stations from any aggression during the voting process
